AndyC:
You present a shocking photo, possibly photo-shopped, of a good looking 1911 with the Glock name on it,
and you have no accompanying comments???!!!
Since it's a Glock, do you think the manual safety or grip safety are really connected to anything?
I'm speechless... but I'll recover. :-)

Interesting. I didn't know they'd started making metal grenades. Thought they were really sold on this whole "polymer grenade" thing.

I'd say it was a total fake. Others agree:

It would have been more believable if it was a polymer-frame double stack, similar to the STI Executive.

Would that be considered a hybrid? Send that picture to Austria please.

How much money for that giant 1911 in the original picture behind the faux Glock 1911?

I have had a Glock 21 for close to 20 years. While the Gen4 is new, it doesn't seem any more 1911-like than mine.

It's definitely not like a 1911. For instance;
- you can get dust, ice, mud on it and it still works.
It doesn't go *click* after round 8
It doesn't make your pants sag severely due to colossal slide and frame weight
The trigger is "curse free" - in a 1911, you say bad things if your thumb doesn't drop that safety _just right_
and most importantly: For the price of a 1911, you can easily buy two G21s and take all your 1911 friends out for dinner (of course, if you show them this list, you won't have any more 1911 friends
)
(And don't you guys be bad mouthin me -- I <3 my STI 1911

)
