Survived that day we all dread...

...the day when the wife finds out exactly how many guns I've accumulated. She was not happy, but the extent of the "discussion" went like this:
"You have X number of guns, and I still don't have the kitchen floor I want?
Are you done buying guns yet?"
The next day, she went with me to the range for the first time.
I dodged a bullet on that one, boys!

What saved me is that her best friend wanted to shoot, and so the wife went along. Of course, I had to get her a little .22LR target pistol for her to shoot....
She liked that one and the .38 snubbie, but refused to fire the AK-47.
I guess I'll have to buy her that kitchen floor before I consider adding another pistol to the stable!

I told myself once I start teaching chl classes this month I am going to try to get one after every class. Other than the first class I am going to get a laptop and a projector to make the classes run easier.

I know everybody has their own relationship with their significant other and whatever works for you is no business of mine, but I always scratch my head when I see posts like "My wife doesn't know how many guns I own." It's just such a foreign concept to me. My wife doesn't care for guns or shooting but I just can't picture how I'd even begin to try to hide a big purchase like that.

Do what I did... stay single. Then there's no one to yell at me for going broke buying guns and ammo, and I don't have to buy a kitchen floor to make up for it.
No disrespect to the OP.
I'm sure one day I'll crack too, just not untill I'm closer to done living care free for a while.

Stay single? Oh brother...I've been "taken" for almost 12 years. I'm way beyond that point.

It could be worse.
I have no idea how many guns we own. And we are BOTH part of the problem.
Two gun-ophiles should never, never, ever get together. Unless they are going to combine their inventory and start a gun shop. But, that might involve SELLING a gun, and around our house, selling a gun is like selling one of the kids. Not that we wouldn't ever do it, but it would be painful.

Selling a kid is painful - and illegal in most states ...

My wonderful wife always tells me just go get it and stop thinking about it. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't, but it's always cool with her. She understands the world we live in and the need for protection.

Add to that a shop full of tools, machine tools, motorcycles, a Mustang that is toy & daily driver, a Toy hauler.....
What works for one is not the same as another couple for sure. But after 20 plus years of marriage we talk about big purchases ($500 or more) but just as in how and when, never IF. It helps that My wife rides bikes with me and my son, loves to drive the Mustang, enjoys shooting with me, we both enjoy cooking and want a bigger, better kitchen, like making the house and property look better, so landscaping materials, fencing the property, adding a 300ft asphalt drive way in replacement of the gravel.. etc,, were / are all common wants and goals. So its' just about how to make it happen.
In 45 years, personal life and Military life experience I found something to be common to all… There is no such thing as a secret, just a truth that is not yet widely known.

Here's what works for me: Separate accounts. Wife makes her money, I make mine, and we spend it in whatever way we choose.
Joint and household expenses we split down the middle (separate bank account. Works great for us.
I'm like Bronco78 (we should talk

) - firearms, machine tools, Mustangs and other cars.
She likes shoes, clothes, animals and new cars.
