Colt Defender - 9mm

Looking for some constructive input on Colt's Defender in 9mm. A couple of years ago I went through a planned consolidation of platforms and calibers ending up with Glock 19s and BCM ARs for training, HD/SD, etc scenarios. The thought, of course, was to streamline and simplify everything, and that plan has been very successful. All that being said, I sold a couple of 1911s (.45 ACP) I had purchased (Colt Combat Commander and SA Mil-Spec) as part of the consolidation efforts. Although I liked the Commander as it was, I had some plans for serious upgrades to the SA Mil-Spec that I didn't follow through on.
I really, really miss not having a 1911 pistol and that wonderfully comfortable single stack for concealed carry. I've been debating going back to the 1911 platform and was looking for some input on a 9mm Defender. I'm really resistant to going to .45 ACP since I'm already committed to 9mm and can afford to shoot much more with that caliber.
Does anyone have any recommendations for or against a Colt Defender in 9mm? I realize that one purchased for concealed carry would need to be "broken in" and its reliability determined before going into the rotation. For now, neither a SA EMP nor an STI are contenders.....
Thanks!
