Elitism like that in Venezuela and Cuba has come to America!
Don't blame me! I voted for McCain!

I guess that when the going gets tough, the tough go on vacation.

Seems funny to me that whether the President is in Washington or not makes no difference. Just another reason
that President O should not be re-elected.

...you nailed it...we're to prepare to cut back and sacrifice...so that he can live off our sweat...he promised transparency...you don't get any clearer than this!!! first promise he's kept, by the way...

Actually it is the second promise!! The first was "I will fundamentally change America...." I think he is well on his way. To his credit he did not say " .....for the worse".

I am not a fan of Obama, but doesn't the kind of things depicted in the pics apply to any President that decides to make a visit anywhere that the general population frequents?

It is not Elitism, it happens with any President.

However, the Obamas do seem to take more vacations than any of their predecessors.

I remember reading about the frequency of his vacations last year too. Already at that point last year he had taken for vacations then his predecessors, I was surprised to hear on the news he was out on vacation again. What does a normal person do for vacations? Aside from trips to visit family I can maybe get 1 weekend trip vacation and possibly one 1/2 week to week long vacation per year. ANy more than that and my coworks or supervisors would be in a huff.

It is the perception. The country is going to hell in a hand basket and the Obamas are having a good time. Kind of like Nero fiddled while Rome burned. Why is he waiting for Labor
Day to announce his "job plan"? Why not announce it now if for nothing else to give the country some hope. I think "Hope" was one of his
campaign slogans. Right now the country is floundering and he is trying to pin it all on the Republicans. He ran as a "uniter" but the govt. is more scrambled than I
can ever remember.

Yeah technically others claiming prior Presidencies took more "vacations" but that kinda depends on the definition of a "vacation" since the others didn't do sightseeing bus tour re-election campaigns.

I mean if you enjoy your job, it's always a vacation, right?

He is completely oblivious to the unintended consequences of what he says. By announcing that he's going to release a "plan" on Labor Day, he completely stops all hiring until then. Everybody who was currently looking at hiring is going to wait to see if they get some kind of benefit for hiring after the announcement.

AND, if he's true to his history, his "plan" will be just another speech, anyway.
