I was outside the vendor door this morning waiting to meet a friend and noticed a person with a 2 wheeler bringing out 10 cases of ammo followed by 3 mexican men. The ammo was left in the parking lot and moments later a car pulls up, opens the trunk and the ammo starts to get loaded into the trunk, in an instant 4 plain clothes officers appeared and the men were briefly spoken to then put into cuffs. Without knowing all the facts I will not make any assumptions although it appeared that illegals had purchased 10k rounds and I do not believe it was for an afternoon at a local range. Personally, myself and many vendors who were ouside at the time were very pleased to see this action taken, the LEO's were very professional ( I do not know what agency they work for and was not going to walk up and ask them) and the buyers were seperated and placed into seperate vehicles, I must say the undercovers do drive nice cars, not your typical Crown Vic's. I grabbed a pic with my phone but decided not to post it here as I do want want the officers to be identifiable due to a lack of judgement on my part, just as concealed means concealed, undercover is just that...... It was good to see them going after the bad guy's versus a Fast and Furious type of operation where they let them walk and get promoted for doing so............

Well, they are switching over to those nice looking Dodge Chargers. Of course, they may also have been able to check out anything they have collected from other busts. IDK?

Wonder if it was a sting or the seller called it in?

I've been down at the Dallas Co jail a few times picking up sick folks and have seen more than enough undercovers bringing in their arrest....full ski mask and all.
What I noticed is that they drive EVERYTHING!!! From little sports cars to big, jacked up trucks with full front bumper replacement brush guards.
Now I could be wrong but my assumption would be that if they are working a prostitution sting(like they were that night) they wouldn't want to drive their personal vehicles for a number of reasons.
I'm willing to bet you are pretty close to nailing this one on the head. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the the cops have a fleet of vehicles used just for undercover ops that look nothing like a traditional police car.

gemini, that must have been it, guess I was in the right place for the second and final trip. The cars were not the typical Chargers, they were higher end and seemed to be on the new side, the only thing that stuck out is that the window tint seemed much darker than allowed legally. I wish there was a way to follow this case, it would be interesting on what the process actually is, will they be granted bail, held rather than let the just disappear etc...

Are you sure they were not Colombian, Cuban, Puerto Rican, Dark Skinned Americans, Guatemalan, Costa Rican, or maybe they were of middle eastern descent?

Hopefully the seller got paid first before calling it in. :evil2: :evil2: :evil2:

I guess those yahoos who got cuffed never heard of buying online "onesy-twoseys".

We are all blessed that the average criminal is an idiot.

I hate to display my ignorance for all the world to revel in, but can you get busted for buying ammo?

Assumptions? Not really. My info was from a DACA member that was standing at the front door when this took place.
Actually a DPD officer noticed something wasn't right, called it in, and got the men picked up. Was a undercover sting
in the works too? Who knows.
