IDPA World Championship, 9/21-24, 2011

Mike Webb, IDPA Area Coordinator and perennial CSO at the National Championships, recently joined the Forum and mentioned that he would be a Chief Safety Officer at the first-ever IDPA World Championship that will be held September 21 through 24 in Frostproof, Florida.

That led me to wonder who from the Forum will be going to the match, either shooting or as a spectator. Chime in here so you'll know who to look for! (Don't disturb Mike while he's working, though. ;-) )

About the match from the IDPA Website:
As IDPA continues to grow within the United States as well as abroad, and from interest within the membership, we realize that the time has come to host a World Championship....

An extra day will be added to this match to accommodate the increase in shooters interested in participating in this inaugural event. Competitors will compete over the course of two half days, thus allowing time to visit vendor areas, side matches and some of the attractions the area has to offer....

The 2010 National Championship had a record setting 392 competitors with 62 coming from outside of the US. This is almost double the foreign participation from the previous year. We expect the World Championship will substantially increase both of these numbers....
I know Gordon Carrell and Gregg Garrett are shooting. Anybody else going?

So...texastactical is the infamous "Iron Mike"???? :thumbs2: I look forward to your posts!

Wish I could make the trip to Florida! Can't say it was a real good idea to schedule a major event in Florida during the height of hurricane season. Hopefully they'll stay away!

If you could only get a better climate control specialist. I am skeptical about global warming, but shooting bay warming certainly seems to have set in.
