Found a use for steel cases

Well after throwing away steel cases that show up in my collection bucket I finally found a use for them. I had to make a gasket for my pressure washer carburetor and had to figure out how to make the holes for the bolts to go through. I had a couple steel 9MMs still stuck on the magnet so I used one as a hole punch. A couple taps with a hammer and Budda-bing! a perfect hole. So far that's the only thing I found good about them.

I used a steel 9mm case as a Ferrel on a home made brush to clean the recoil spring tube on my 1100. It fit perfectly over the dowell I used as a handle.

If you can save a few million of them, you might be able to scrap them for a couple of bucks! LOL!!

I have a bucket that I throw steel cases into. One day when I'm old, it will be full and I'll take it to the scrap yard to get $4 for it ;)

Not that I recommend this, but I found a steel 45acp case & I put it in the Dillon and reloaded it like a brass
case without any problem. It was actually easier to resize & prime than S&B brass.

Unfortunately, by the time you get $4 worth of steel cases the gas costs to get to the recycle center will exceed the $4............

That's only an issue if that's the only thing I bring to the recycle place. Otherwise, I could look at it as my collection of steel cases paying for my gas to get money for other things.

My Lee manual tells me that's just fine and that steel cases are reloadable, though carbide dies are strongly recommended to keep from wearing out your dies.
