They also have to post the appropriate 30.06 sign.

...we should get in the habit of picking up the CHL handbook and digging out the answer to basic questions for ourselves...we might advise you wrongly, but if you verify it in written law, you KNOW where you stand...and that confidence makes it all easier...study to know why you do what you do...it's worth the effort...

One of the very reason this forum exists is to absorb everything you can from reading as well as being able to ask questions. There are no wrong questions.

...my post didn't imply that there was a wrong question...just that the knowledge has to become our own...I can't have forum members with me daily nor can I take them to court with me...I was encouraging the OP to find out where it is in the handbook and what the law says about his question...

Then I would like to make a suggestion. Post the law so he can then go look it up.

If all we are supposed to do is look up laws in the handbook then there would be no need for the CHL classs. It is pretty obvious from every post on this forum there are questions asked that could have just been "looked up."

Once again there is nothing wrong with asking questions rather than looking them up!

...he's aware of the 30.06...he knows it well enough to know that the sign he's asking about is non-compliant...

...you will have to be the one to post the "law about banks and credit unions"...I haven't seen that one...

...and once again, nothing I said implies that there's anything wrong with asking questions instead of looking them up...????????

...since I seem to have struck a raw nerve with you, I'll expand on my original post...I just took a renewal class...my instructor told us two things that were in error...MANY answers given here are in error, and are either corrected by the one posting them or others who read them and post a correction...I was encouraging our OP to study the laws to see if what we told him was accurate or not...and to learn them himself by reading and re-reading till he was confident of what they were...so that he wouldn't be led astray by someone who was well-meaning but wrong...my post was straight-out and said what I meant and had no sarcasm or double-talk...I can't imagine why you've felt the need to address/corrrect me about it twice...I have OFTEN jumped on someone who ridiculed someone's question or mocked them...I agree that any question deserves an answer...

I would say he does not understand completely the 30.06 or he would have never had a question. I am glad the forum exist for such a reason.

...I've read 30.06 dozens of times...there are STILL questions unanswered...like where it has to be posted and why the 51% specifies and 30.06 doesn't...it needs some tweaking !!!
