A year or so ago I got my CHL with help from this forum. I had a Glock 22 and a Crossbreed IWB. I read that most where using Glock 27 and Glock 23 for their EDC. So, I followed suit. I got my Glock 27 and practiced with it. I found I could conceal it with no problem wearing the proper garments. I however did notice the grip to be to short for my hand and although I was able to compensate, it was not 100% comfortable to shoot. So, after examining each gun the the only difference in the exposed portion of each Glock (22 vs 27) was the grip. I decided to try carrying the Glock 22 with the same garments. I have found that with my body type, my clothing choices, I can carry the Glock 22 with equal concealment. So, more rounds, more comfortable shooting, more accurate with less grip modification. I still use the Glock 27 for fanny pack carrying on my bicycle exercise rides. I just wanted to outline my progression of thought, experimentation in an attempt to maybe help someone else.

I carry my Glock 20 all the time, nobody is the wiser. I also have a 27 and it’s more of the same when walking around. I do carry my 27 more often when I know I am going out to a restaurant and sitting down. It is a little harder to conceal the grip of the 20 when sitting. I sometimes have to adjust myself or shirt a little when sitting. Once it gets a little cooler and a light jacket is needed at night the 27 becomes a safe queen for the next 3-4 months.

Body type, holster type and clothing really all come together to make the difference. I know a guy who conceals a GP-100 .357 with a 4inch barrel. That is no small feat, not only because the size but also the weight.

I carry Glock 20 and 29. The grip is def easier to grab on the 20. I added a Pearce grip ext for my pinky on the 29 it did help.

That's an important point. There are individual differences. Just because Bob can conceal a Glock 23 doesn't necessarily mean Chuck can. And just because Bob can't conceal a Glock 24c with optics doesn't mean Dave won't be able to.

Perhaps the Glock 23 is the gun that is just right for you?

gives the pinky finger a home and adds 2 rounds in .40 (Glock 27) and 3 rounds in 9mm (Glock 26) and one round for Glock 39

Here's the deal for me and my boney behind:
I can conceal a Glock 17 grip with a +3 extension on it, the grip isn't the issue with proper cant/angle but the darn wide as a 2x4 slide ---foot long slide pokes the seat I'm sitting on making a loud clunk on wooden church pews. through the leg of my pants.

The shorter slide I can conceal, I overcame grip lengths.

I usually carry my G29, yesterday I carried the G20 and it didnt seem any harder to concel. I was in a jersey so that helps. I carry my G23/32/38 when going OWB. Its all about what you wear and where you place your holster.

Grip length isn't the issue for me, it's the long fat slide ... my 20+1 Glock 26 using Glock 17 mag +3 Pearce Grip PG39

(Of course can carry with just 13+1 too and still have pinky room with the PG39 .. or on a Glock 19 normally 15+1 capacity one could use the PG39 to add 3 more ....

Mine? camera flash (and website) doesn't do them justice, I use orange rear. yellow front I tried combinations in various lighting and on various backgrounds/shirt/jacket colors someone might wear. And tried against backlit things to check that you still see a triangle even if you can't see colors. I installed them myself on Glock; easy Instructions come with them and are also available as a PDF on website if you want to see

... I dunno what someone would charge to install them, only takes a few minutes and the tool to do it is included for front sight, you can drive the rear Glock dovetail sight out if you have a flatblade screwdriver and hammer and sit the new one in.... not hard can't imagine it costing much to have done.
On my XD45 I installed the rear, but can't get the original front sight off yet ... not rushing though either.

Um yeah, I have those on my 19, 26, 27, and XD 45 and I only plan to buy guns they make them for so I'll be selling some other brand 380s to buy a P238 because ... I love those sights. Been using them about 3 years now, spoiled I guess on the fast reacquisition for a followup shot.. I really don't intent to own a gun they don't make sights for any more so I guess you can say I like them

I also have the internal Guide rod laser in it there, (for other lighting situations) and made a tiny lanyard hole for in case I go swimming accidentally (fall off my kayak)

I also tried the Pearce mag extender, but didn't like it and I didn't shoot as well with it. While at the range one day a couple next to me were shooting their brand new G27. We talked a bit and they asked about my grip extender. I let them try it and they liked it, so I offered them an even trade for their stock 9-round mag. Everyone was happy.

I tried the grip extenders as well. I found it was just as easy to carry the full sized gun. I know it will not work for everyone, but is the best choice for me.

...I really like those sights...oughta pick up a lotta light inside a building, too...
