I was reading Thefirearmblog.com and found an interesting article about the ownership of Kahr and some of their history positive and negative. Just thought I would pass it along, as I know there are some Kahr lovers in and amongst us. And I also know how much we all like American made products. Food for thought is all...

I personally don't care about his father's religion but if the gossip mongers have even a shred of truth, Kahr should run an advertising campaign about CLINGING TO GUNS AND RELIGION.

Manufacturing anything in the US is tough. That's what a lot the political hu-bub is about. I'm for it no matter who does it.

In Kahr's case, there seemed to be a genuine desire by the son to build quality guns here because he wanted to. I like my PM9.

Kimber's history reads like a soap opera but the guns shoot straight, work great and look good and people who buy them like them. What more can you ask for.

Well I left my own comment there. From my perspective, any other religious belief is a cult—established religion or not. But that is irrelevant to whether or not Kahr makes good guns. FWIW, my Kahr dollars went to a pawn shop south of Dallas, rather than to a retail outlet selling new Kahrs. So in a sense, mine was already paid for.

But again, that is irrelevant. If I were to restrict all of my business to people who believe exactly what I believe, then I would have trouble feeding myself, let alone choosing a pocket pistol. I think that people who believe differently than I do are spiritually deceived and living in spiritual darkness, but that is between them and God, and doesn't directly involve me except that I care about their spiritual condition, and would be willing to help lead them into the light if they were willing to take that walk with me. But if they aren't willing, that's not going to stop me from buying their products, or from having a social or political life which involves them.

I own a number of Kahrs. I know about the background of the company that makes them (and did over 10 years ago) before I made my purchase.

I also know a fair bit about the former USSR, and I still have a number of their AK-47's. That has nothing to do with my views of their politics, or religion (or lack of religion)

Justin Moon makes a really awesome 9mm pistol that I have carried for over 10 years. I have put lots of rounds through my AK-47. I am not a moonie or commie nor do I feel guilty about owning either firearm because of their "background".

My Lugar 9mm antique will not make me a Nazi either. It is just a really cool pistol.

I feel the same way when I walk into a church with graven images. But if they make a good gun (or a good computer) at a good price, I will make my worldly purchases based on worldly considerations.
