Big cats, knives, guns...

Key points for me:
1. "The child then yelled to his father and stood up, pulling out a hunting knife, which made the predator back down..."
2. "...and gave the dad enough time to fire off several shots from his 9mm handgun to scare the lion away,"
And the lad has the right attitude:
"The boy was not traumatized from his encounter, ...His biggest concern was that his schoolmates wouldn't believe him..."

I could quibble with some points (like runnng from cats and warning shots) but overall they got the job done, and well done to them. Sad about their dog, tho.
