I checked the website today, and was pleasantly surprised to see:

Application Completed - license issued or certificate active

The application was recieved on Oct 7. It's Dec 19.

The wait was an exercise in self control. I put it out of my mind, and did not check the website every day. I had to try and forget about it.

The last time I checked, I think, was thursday the 14th of dec.

I guess my question is, does it get put in the mail on the same day as the notice get's put in the mail?

In the past, it has usually taken 2 days (3 max) for a first class letter to travel to/from Austin to DFW. I figure, if the status changed today, and it was put into the mail today, I should get it by Friday.

I must admit. Patience is not my thing.

As I understand they are mailed in batches, twice a week, so it's likely to go out in the next batch.

My update on the website came on a Tuesday, received license on Friday.

Just an update. I recieved the actual license in the mail on friday, the 22nd of December.

I was pleasantly surprise to find that Costco in Ft. Worth did not prohibit CC. They had the sign that prohibits unlicensed carry.
