Found this "Non 30.06" sign in Harker Heights while going to lunch at a place next door, just before I deployed this last time.. kinda forgot the pic was on my phone till today.

My LEO friends that work that area tell me the liquor store with this sign has been held up and or broken into at least twice.

When I get home,,, I need to go visit that place,,,,, and then tell everyone I know to shop there.

Oh and BTW, the fliers you see on the door in the first pic,,, those are store owner produced "wanted" posters for the guy that broke in just a few days before I took this pic.

1988 or 1989, when i was station at Fort Ord CA, my future wife and I were at a breakfast bar having breakfast... and the hotel across the street, with a local police convention happing in the main ball room, was robbed.. or attempted to be robbed..

Having walked past the sandwich board signs out front announcing said police convention, the wood be robber shouldered his way past a group of people that any non moron would have recognized as LEO's or like people... and then proceeded to tick the place up.. It ended well……..for the Police, the robber, not so well, when he found himself surrounded by LEO‘s in and out of uniform with weapons drawn, suggesting he should drop his weapon and come with them.

If you go to Harker Heights, you'd better be armed anyway...

Why, it's a little bedroom community, makes nothing, sells nothing but service , people live there to work in other towns.. The high school is a stab and jab, but the town is not known for any high crime rates, unless you know something my friends that are LEO, s in Killeen and Cove.
