I have been talking to a friend of mine that wants to get his CHL but
He is worried that his unpaid parking ticket will
Make his CHL to be denied. He has no warrants but is a unpaid parking ticket
Like owning state taxes.

If there's no warrants, he should be OK. Even unpaid taxes should not disqualify until he's ruled finally delinquent.

But would the parking ticket be listed delinquent with the state tax office.

Yes he should. But he wants to wait till he gets some extra money. But he was thinking of gettig his CHL now because he want to go to particular CHL class.
He dose not have Internet access so I told him I would try to get the info he needs.

In my mind I would thinkthe ticket would be the priority. And then the class. That's just me though.

I get the feeling he does not have his priorities straight, which makes me feel he may not have his priorities in line when it comes to carrying a deadly weapon.

I will tell him to call the DPS and find out the answer that way. He for some reason did not want to call downthere. I have called them about one queston for my CHL app and they are very nice and help full.
Thanks

This may be a somewhat dated concept but responsible and deserving citizens do not have unpaid bills, child support, tickets, taxes, loans, etc.

Class C misdemeanors (traffic tickets) do not affect CHL eligibility. Even if the ticket went to warrant, all DPS would do is give him a "courtesy call" to inform him of the warrant, and the need to get it resolved, but it would not affect his eligibility.
But he should pay his tickets, or fight it in court.

So he's ok with having a warrant out on him?
