CHL Elegibility

New to the board. I have a couple of "mistakes" that I made when I was younger. First was me and a friend took a couple of coke canisters from the baseball field. They were out in the open and there for three weeks. We were wrong. My question is that I did get my rights read to me, the school principle said that sense we had no record he would deal with disaplining us. Well 6 months later we get a call from Dallas county to be sure to show up at our community service. I have no records of this. I will add that I was never "detained or booked or stood in front of a judge".
Second question. Spring break almost 20 years ago me and some buddies went across into Mexico. Upon our return into America, we got searched and customs found two seeds and a stem. The weight was 0.03 grams. We paid our fine and were on our way. It was my truck, and my name was on the sheet of paperwork that I have lost. We did not have our rights read to us.
I have not had any problems with these things showing up to haunt me. I am worried tha this will keep me from getting my licence. I absolutely do not behave in that way anymore. Basically did a few things that guys do when they are young and clueless about the world.
Any advice on these subjects would be extreamly helpful.
Many thanks

The way you described them ...Those incidents probably won't disqualify you.

You probably need to go ahead and order/request a copy of any documents from Dallas County Clerk-criminal record search
and from the other County
for your records, just in case
If they come up with nothing on the search, then request an "affidavit or certification of no record found"

Also I think I paid about a dollar online to search my criminal record with DPS or Harris County and printed them showing no record found

I also faxed such a certificate of no record from the county/district clerks regarding a couple of similar childhood incidents from 35 years ago or so

(1) 15 years old --had a BB gun and was taken to police station and parents picked me up,
I mentioned it on the application, so DPS on doing background check wanted more info on "possible Unlawful carrying weapon charge"
I had to show there was no record

and (2) 18 years old --got a ride home from a wedding reception with a guy my girlfriend knew and he had too much champagne, and waved the wrong finger at an officer, then threw out a "green tobacco" cigarette he had in his pocket (in the early 1970s, that amount was a felony, and I was an adult, JUST turned 18, actually I was the only adult in the car, driver was a 15-year old rich kid, girlfriend was 17, about to turn 18) ... so we all went downtown in handcuffs, though I didn't use drugs and just met the guy an hour or so earlier, I was photo'd fingerprinted because all 3 of us were in the car; next morning, parents picked me up from jail and charges dropped or not filed.
So DPS wanted records for the background check
I had to show there was no record, no criminal case was ever filed

=========
I need to get to Austin Kayak next week or so, possible warranty issue on my 2009 Outback kayak, but I can fix it myself and I know I'll buy stuff when I walk into a kayak store.
