It could not happen to a more deserving guy in the firearms industry. Well, on second thought, there are some hombres pushin non-resident licences who might qualify.

I need a new recoil spring for my hipower ciener. I have put off getting them because Ciener is so hard to deal with. Now I am probably out of luck.

Triple +++ this idea, and one step further, just send them the spring you have after a phone call to let um know it's coming.
Great company, great service , great products. I have bought many Wolf Spring products over the years, some fitting for applications not listed.

I tried Wolff some time ago. They couldn't help me out. Tried a couple other too because I didn't want to deal with Ciener. Nobody had the springs.
Maybe things will change now.
Thanks for the suggestion.

I don't get it, some guy puts a rant on the Internet and it's gospel? I rread through some of his examples and didn't see any hard evidence that his products should be avoided. By the way the complaints are written, they almost seem like they are all the same person writing them. A guy with a grudge against Ciener. I know a lot of people happy with their Cieners, I am, I'm happy with my Hesse, too. What I'm not happy with is my Kahr and their customer service, but it seems the rest of the world loves them. Go figure.
Maybe there's more to it than I have read so far.

The problem I always heard about Ciener was customer service; He was always out of conversions and would not support the one in the field if there were issues. Additionally there were issues with dealers and suppliers not getting orders filled or replacements for defective units, etc. This has been going on for several years.
Now, from a quality standpoint, I think they are great. I have a Ciener full-size 1911 conversion that is actually branded Kimber. It was the first ones Kimber sold. My understanding is they couldn't get enough units to keep the supply going from Ciener, so they came up with their own version and that is what is sold now.
Bottom line, sounds no different than a lot of businesses that get big quickly and have a high demand product and can't keep up with the administrative and/or manufacturing side of things. The thing now will to be for the prosecutors to prove he was intentionally looking to defraud in his business dealings.

If he didn't have the resources to meet the demand, maybe he should have considered bringing on some capital backing, or selling it and staying on as CEO, or something like that?

Many, many moons ago, I bought a Ceiner .22 conversion for a Glock 17. Tried it with every brand of ammo I could find and consistently had at least one misfire out of every 10-round magazine. I suppose I was one of the "lucky" ones at the time and finally got to speak with him on the phone. His attitude was ya, I could ship it back to him for them to check it out, but there would be no guarantee that it would function any better, that such frequency of misfires was to be expected with those units. I wound up giving it away to a Glock armoror - and trash talking the man any time someone on any of the forums was considering purchasing one of his products.

At least you got to talk to him. I called him 4-5 times, left messages and never heard anything.
My unit worked well until the spring wore out.
