I got to reading up on sheepdogs (the actual sheepdogs that guard actual sheep) and found some interesting things. There are actually different types of sheepdog and one was basically a description of the non-LEO concealed carrier.

Good article. Thanks for bringing it up. I've often used the predator/prey descriptions while discussing security issues. Coming from a military and private security background, I've often tried to explain the roles people take, and the importance of projecting a strong image. Having been the 'hunter', I still seem to project the image and often get asked if I am/was a LEO. While I might, at times, be more 'aggressive' in pursuit, I generally try to stay in the 'guardian' role. It might seem to be 'preaching to the choir' in this forum, but I think its an important reminder that we 'sheepdogs' should try to instruct the flock for their own benefit, in case we're not around.

...good points...especially passing on the proper mindsets to the future protectors...passing the torch is important in 2A, too...

I thought it was well written, and it is helpful to clearly differentiate the different kinds of sheepdogs.
