I was in Houston this past Saturday at the GRB for the gunshow. I was looking for an inexpensive plinking piston in 9mm and found a 24/7 on sale. I picked it up and man it felt good in my hand and I really liked the balance, and now that it is loaded I like the way it feels in my hand even better. This will be my 4th Taurus firearm. I also have a PT-145 that has been flawless for over 4000 rounds, a new PT-1911 bought for the younger son (21yo.) that has 250 rounds through it with only one FTF, a 415 stainless revolver in 41mag that is a great shooter and am hoping this gun will follow suit. I picked up a 250 round box of Remington 115gr FMJ to plink with and hope to get to the range with it this week.

If you have the same gun I was wondering how your experience has been with this caliber.

Don't know about the 24/7, but my 9mmTaurus Millenium Pro compact at 18.3 0z. empty is a humdinger. It eats any ammo and never needs cleaning. It is more accurate than I am, and probably more accurate than the combat sights that came on it. Extremely reliable gun with excellent ergonomics, a real sleeper on the market. Not the best trigger action, but the gun was $200 cheaper than the slightly smaller SIG 226, which had a really great trigger. Mine is DOA version. Newer MilPros are said to be DA/SA. I read the 24/7 is even better than the MilPros.

My wife also picked one out all by herself...Walked out with one (NIB) at a local Houston Gunshow early last year I recall for about $357 and change...

I got to put one magazine through it for fun, and I never got to touch it again...It does have a smooth factory trigger, but I found the first pull to be a little heavier than I expected...But I figure with time anyone can get used to that and become very proficient with it...

Very easy to breakdown and maintain, and requires very little effort to keep it functioning, and eating ammo with zero problems...

Taurus is putting out some pretty good products...

I'm going to see how this next batch of 1911's they have rolling out soon goes...

I've still got that itch to get one of those...

You can always go with the Kel-Tec P11 and with the money you save, spend on a full-size gun.
