Nice sign posting in Waco... (who at TABC do I notify?)

Spied at George's (after we whooped UT)
I want to let TABC know, but not sure whom to call there. Any links, phone #, or email address where I can notify them?
I did not bring it to their attention for obvious reasons, but when I took the pic, an employee asked me why I was taking it, and I responded that "I was under the impression that these signs cannot both be posted, and that they are mutually exclusive." (I didn't let him know that I *knew* it, but played it softer, and I didn't say I was turning them in or mention CHL's etc)
The employee said, well, the restaurant isn't 51% but the bar is.
I'm hoping he was not the manager, but he was dressed as one.
Side note... I was shocked that it was not a 51% location. They have a dining area, but I cannot imagine that less than 50% of their income is from alcohol. That place is a bar that happens to have some food and a few tables.

If it's the George's on Hewitt Drive, they are not a 51% location per the TABC database. Go look at heir license to be sure. Should say SIGN=BLUE

Is this the place? If it is then they should have the Blue sign.

No. This is George's (pretty locally famous place) on 1925 Speight in Waco, Tx. I think it was in a song by Pat Green actually...
All the George's are listed as "blue", which is why I took the picture and want to notify TABC. If it was "red", I'd likely still notify them, but not as enthusiastically since the sign is there, and as a CHL should "spook" you anyway into checking.
I wasn't carrying because it was time to celebrate a win and enjoy what George's is famous for, "Big O's", but this sign error still bothered me because 9 times out of 10, I'm not having a beer, and I am carrying.
Thanks for the TABC contact info. Somehow I failed at search, and didn't find that page.
EDIT:
It's this George's

Exactly... which is why I'm letting TABC know. They are improperly displaying the red 51% sign.
Thanks!

What are the proper names for those signs? "Reg Gun Sign" and "Blue Gun Sign" ? I need to know so that when speaking to them, they'll know what I'm talking about. :)

I was there from '86 to '90 and enjoyed many a "Big O". (Had them fill mine with Dr. Pepper, of course

) George's is known for their chicken fried steaks as much as they are for their Big O's, IMHO. That place was always packed with diners, it doesn't surprise me at all. Also, if memory serves, the Big O's were
quite inexpensive, making it even more difficult to surpass food income.
My wife and I rolled through Waco about a month ago on a Sunday and I was going to introduce her to one of their chicken fry's. They were closed.
BTW, do they still have the old electronic, shuffleboard-style bowling alley?

I was just a couple of years behind you at BU it sounds like.
George's has changed a lot. It was purchased by the family that owns the Elite. The bar dominates now. The food-serving area is a much smaller percentage of the place than it was.
It still has good Chicken Fried Steaks, and even cheap beer, but it's still so much more beer-oriented than it was before.
The waitresses that cussed at you are gone too. :)
(and sadly so is the bowling game you're asking about)

Sounds like we were probably better off it was closed. I'd hate to have my wife see me break down and cry like a little baby.
Certainly understand now about your surprise. Some things are better just left alone...

Sorry to change the subject...I'll PM you in the next couple of days...

Is it possible that there actually are two businesses within the structure? One is a dining restaurant where drinks can be served at the table, named George's. The other is a bar that primarily serves alcohol, thus earning a red 51% sign, and operating under a name different than the dining area. In Houston area, CHL instructor advised this can be found - so stay in dining and away from bar. In such a case, blue and red signs must be positioned apart to distinguish each area.

Looks like the place may have just put up every sign it got in it's package. Well, almost every sign. If it were a 51% location, regardless of the second unlicensed sign, that still wouldn't be proper notice since they are missing the English version. Something to keep in mind...

That was my thought as well. It's just strange. I sent the pic to the TABC, and they said they will be in touch with George's.

No. Not possible in this case.

Good to meet another Bear. And yes, RG3 is very likely to win it. He deserves it. It will sure make the Alamo Bowl fun too!
BTW, I graduated in '93. This is the first time we've been relevant since then!
