So, let's say you used to work at a place that doesn't allow employees to carry to the worklplace.

If you no longer work at this place, can you now carry while on visits to the facility if it is not posted or otherwise unlawful?

Or have you been previously notified? (even though you are no longer an employee)

if you don't work there any more, they can't fire you. Other than that. it dependswhat notification you got as an employee. If there's a valid 30.06 sign, I don't think it's kosher to pretend you don't know about it.

Interesting, I don't know but I guess that depends on how you where notified. If it was in a contract as an employee I would think that it only applies as an employee but if your boss or owner of the company told you face to face no guns allowed then I would consider that proper verbal 30.06 and therefore is a no go. I am not a lawyer so take that advice with a grain of salt.

I would assume it was a company policy not to let their employees carry at work. That being said if it is not posted for other customers to see then I THINK you'd be fine to carry as a customer.

Ie: my brothe works at a local bank that denies any employee from carrying while at work but I can when I visit.

So no 30.06 and no 51% signs and I'd say your good to go!!

IMO if you received proper notification (legal as in verbal or proper written notice) and the company is still the same one, then employee or not you have been given notice and it's valid until it is rescinded by the company representative.

Now, there may be one caveat: If they said to you 'You can't carry here as an employee', then since you are no longer an employee you would be out in my opinion. However, if it was generic 'You can't carry here' notice, then you are still stuck.

Keith brings up a good point. I have worked for several employers that had contracts with no weapons policies but never a 30.06 written in a contract. Just weapons are grounds for immediate termination etc etc.
