Anyone here been wanting an LCR in .22 LR? Well, Santa has delivered!

http://www.ruger.com/products/lcr/models.html

8 round capacity and the same size as the .38 and .357 versions (But over an ounce heavier than the .38 SPL version). Might be a fun gun to have, once the price comes down to something reasonable.

...loaded with Stingers, I'll choose it over any .25 or .32 semiauto I've seen...smart move on Ruger's part...

It would be great with Stingers or Velocitors, and WORLDS better than any .25 or .32, but I think their main motivation was as a trainer. I sold my LCR because it wasn't fun to practice with it - even with the Houge Tamer grip. Had this been around back then, I likely would have kept it. I know lots of other folks across teh inter-webz have been clamoring for one for quite a while.

Maybe this is how Ruger will meet their "One Million Gun Challenge" for the NRA? Releasing a new gun every other month or so?

Ruger puts out another winner! I am happy that an American manufacturer is putting out so many new and unique options. LCP, LC9, LCR, Single 10, GS Scout....keep 'em comin'! :clapping:

I don't know. I don't even see myself carrying a 22mag let alone a .22lr concealed for protection and it's a snub to boot. Maybe it has a use for snake shot when hunting because the .22s are quite effective and its small and easy to carry. I think this makes more sense for a 22 revolver. http://www.ruger.com/products/sp101/spe ... /5765.html

I would carry a .32acp or H&R before this! Don't get me wrong I love Ruger revolvers but I wouldn't really have a use for it.

...I wouldn't choose a .22LR for a primary, or for my BUG, but for the last-ditch 3rd I'd be confident with it...I've seen more men killed with a .22 short than I have with a .45...the .22LR will do the job...

I would not buy this gun to use as a carry piece as I have better options, howeve;, I am not opposed to carrying an 8 shot .22. I do see this as a great trainer for people that own a .38 or. 357 LCR or as a fun little plinker. I have a .22 upper for my 1911s that I use for practice and if it came down to it, I'm not oppsed to putting it on my hip.
Now I might have to get the .22 and .357 LCR. :biggrinjester:

There is a reason it has killed so many people, its cheap ammo and the guns are usually cheaper then most centerfire rounds. Therefore the thugs have them. My buddy who is a LEO says a lot of should we say undesirables have them hidden on them because they are small and cheap. A lot of throwaway guns are .22s.

Like you said though it will kill! My old neighbors nephew was killed by one while trying to un-jam a misfire in his rifle and he grew up around guns and hunted all the time. Just used bad judgement.

This would be a great friend to have when going for walks. Sometimes there are those encounters with dogs that I never know what their intention is. Put me down for one. I like Ruger gear a lot and I am a sucker for revolvers. Thanks for the post.

Just picked up a PMR30. Not a fan of .22 myself but 30+1 of .22WMR is a lot of little holes. I could see that as a main carry but not a little LCR. Good bug though.

Maybe one of these days they will make the LCR chambered for the most efficient cartridge for the barrel length: 9mm. My 38+P would be for sale the next day.

That's also on my wish list.
Where did you find one?

...back in the day, the coroner would find that, while a larger caliber would punch an in-and-out hole, the little .22 short would go in and bounce around, quite often the recipient bled out before the ER Dr. could find and stop all the places he was bleeding inside..that and the fact that, for instance, the RG10, made for the .22 short, was sold for $6-$10...(and worth every penny of it) made that one gun the most commonly found in the 60s and 70s in my neck of the woods...I wouldn't know about the throwaway guns...I never allowed a gun in my squad that couldn't be traced back to me or my rookie on paper...
