Yep, write your Texas state legislators about that.
Check the politics forum for details.

If it is up before the Texas legislature (which it is), then it is a Texas law and not a federal one. The problem is that the two senators you wrote to are in the federal senate. They would also have a bill named HB103, but it refers to the federal House of Representatives and may be a flood control bill (I have not looked), thus explaining their response to you.
If you want to support the castle doctrine bill, which I strongly recommend, you need to find out who your state senator and state representative are, and write to them.

Bills in the U.S. House of Representatives are styled "H.R." Texas bills are "H.B."
There wasn't an H.R. 103 in the last Congress. U.S. House bills seems to start in the four-digit range. I don't know the rule for that.
Senate bills start with S, and that's what a U.S. senator would be voting on.
There was an S. 103. It dealt with methamphetamine.

You can go to
http://www.house.state.tx.us/resources/faq.htm#who_repand enter your address to find your Texas representative. That's the person to write to about HB 103. Thanks for your effort.

They are our federal senators. Not sure of who your state rep. is but you can go to state of Texas web site and follow it to find out. I will see if I can locate the site you need.
The site is-
