CZ82 over 3.5" 1911?

I have been carrying my Rock Island Armory (armscor) 3.5" 1911 .45 in a crossbreed holster for about a year. I didn't wear it one day, and now it is a chore to put on every day. Between my love handles and the weight of the gun, it is a pain to carry. I am going to try a purpose-made gun belt, and see if it helps, but my pants like to sag with this current setup.
I have my C&R licensce, and not a whole lot of money to sepnd on another gun. I have been eyeing a CZ-82, or maybe even a tiny p-64. The thought of not having a big ole .45 round worries me a little, but the capacity of the 82 makes up for it (a bit) in my mind. Does anybody hve any experience with either gun as an EDC, or holster reccomendations? Kinda brainstorming right now.

I am a died in the wool 1911 fan. It has been my experience though that #1 if it says CZ on it you will have a reliable gun.
#2 is does it feel googood to your hand?
#last is do you shoot it well?
Yes & yes to the last 2 should make up your mind.

Although I am always a fan of buying another gun, I'd also like to point out that a quality gunbelt and holster can save you from having to buy another gun.
A person who has never worn a quality gunbelt cannot really comprehend what a huge difference it makes in comfort.

I say do the opposite. Get an even bigger, heavier gun. Wear that for a week then go back down to your normal carry

Don't drop the money on a new gun until you buy a quality purpose-made gun belt. It makes a HUGE difference.

For a less expensive alternative to a leather gun belt, try a
Wilderness Tactical instructor belt. They list for $39.95, but can be found for less with a little searching. I have two and they are great belts. My son carries either a Sig P220 or a 5" stainless Kimber on his every day.
The holster can have a big impact, as well. For IWB comfort, you might want to try a Crossbreed or Comp-Tac holster. I'm partial to the less expensive
Kholster. It looks ugly as sin, but is even more comfortable than my Crossbreed holsters.

Fully agree with the gun belt comments -- you cannot compare using a sturdy gun-belt versus a standard dress belt.
A CZ-82 is a fine weapon -- but it's not going to weigh much less than your 3.5" RIA. If you are serious about a P-64, be sure to try the trigger first -- it may change your mind.
