Stumbled upon this the other day when searching around the interweb for a stock photo to show a friend.

I don't think the sniper Enfields go for that cheap these days ;-)
And back in those days you could actually own a gun in Chicago :smilelol5:

Did this as attachment so you can see whole ad

If I had a time machine...I"d have a lot of old muscle cars, machine guns, and cheap land (my grandparents used to go to red river when 1/3 of the storefronts on main street were unused).

I remember those ads well. They were in every shooting/hunting magazine before the passage of the gun control act of 1968. We can thank Lee Harvey Oswald's purchase of the rifle he allegedly used to assassinate JFK for that infringement of the 2nd ammendment.

Those WERE the good 'ol days. I was still living in Nashville and bought my first Ruger Single Six Convertible through the mail from Klein's in 1963. I also bought a Puma White Hunter knife from them about that same time. Since I'm on a roll, I bought a Win M94 .30-30 from Sears that year on credit, IIRC $83 +/-. Later that same year, I watched the Kennedy funeral in B&W on TV.
