Don't know about the "bent nail" the "blue thingy" looks like a magazine loader for .22 LR mags.

the hex tool tightens the recoil spring guide rod (that secures the slide)
and that's a mag loader so you don't have to hold the spring knob down with your thumb
It all runs well if kept clean and lubed.
I'm certain with a good shooter it could consistently shoot 2" groups at 25yds.
And mine's not the match Unit 1.
