Well, I am definitely falling in love with this little pistol.

I'm not supposed to be shooting yet since my neck surgery, but I couldn't resist a few rounds last night. We have Steel Challenge practice on Wednesday evenings, so, "trying" to be a good patient, I didn't haul my usual bag full of goodies to the range. I only took my new EDC, some extra ammo and some other mags.

Granted I'm out of practice since I haven't been shooting Steel in nearly 2 months, but it sure was nice to run some decent times with this little hand cannon. I didn't run anywhere as fast as I usually do, however the little 3 incher was having no problem connecting with the steel plates even the stop plate back at 35 yards (yes 35 YARDS). You gotta love it.

I let 2-3 others make a couple runs with it, and they all said the same thing. They all felt like it had way less recoil than expected, and it suprised them how quickly they could get back on target. One of my buddies made three runs without missing a plate. Not one of us had a malfunction of any kind, and that was with 3 different mags including a 7 round Chip McCormick, 8 round Wilson Combat , and my 10 round Wilson Combat. I was really trying to make it screw up with a mixed bag of Blazer Aluminum FMJs, WWB 230 FMJ, Federal 230 FMJ and some JHPs from Remington.

Needless to say, I am now completely convinced that I can trust this weapon with my life.

Sorry , I just had to brag a little especially since one of the guys that ran it said he had seen more Kimbers that couldn't run than those that could. He'll have to shut up now. LOL

I love my UC II, and it is very reliable. If you want to surprise yourself, shoot it one handed. It's surprisingly easy. I actually prefer to shoot mine that way.

Funny you should mention that. It does shoot well one handed, however it likes to hit me with brass right in the middle of my forehead if I loosen up. It probably has to do with me being right handed and left eye dominant. If my head was on straight the brass would miss me.

Thanks , I think I am doing pretty good after reading all the horror stories of people with c-spine fusions. I had a 4 level fusion from C3 to C7. My head doesn't duck like it used to, maybe that's why I am getting hit with brass.LOL
