Just got my Blackhawk Gun belt that is reinforced with Kydex.

First impression: Man is this stiff.

Has anyone else got one?

Don't know if I like it yet. It does the job but I do not know if it does it any better than a regular belt.

I have 2 of them and love them!
they are very stiff, which is what you want.

i think they are better than my $80 Crossbreed belt!

I have been wearing mine for the past 2 days with my pancake holster for the Sig 239.

Prior to that belt I was wearing a regular 1 1/2 inch belt with that pancake and that gun.

When I switched to the Kydex belt the gun became quite stiff in the holster. I put some
leather lightning in the holster and have been wearing the kydex belt with that pancake and gun.
The draw has gotten pretty good to how it was with the regular dress belt.

I think the kydex belt being stiff draws the slots of the pancake a bit more and the holster grips the pistol more
making it feel stiffer. After two days the holsters has "broken in" again for the new belt.

Does this make any sense to you?

I have one. Stiff is what I wanted and stiff is what I got. I have been wearing it for about two years and it's gotten less stiff but still works fine.

+1 I also have a Crossbreed belt and two of the Blackhawks, and like them better. They were much cheaper too! I got both belts for $30 all together. They were on clearance I believe.

I have not tried the Crossbreed Kydex reinforced nor the Blackhawk Kydex reinforced

I wear the CompTac Contoured Kydex Reinforced with Velcro sewn in...and have for years ...which I don't believe any of the others make.

What is the velcro used for? Do you use it?

I have a comptac reinforced belt and I like it for OWB but not so much for IWB. The problem with IWB is that because it is so stiff it digs in a bit on the opposite side of the holster. My left hip/waist get a bit sore after a while. I generally wear just a regular Kohls cheap leather belt with my comptac minitaur holster and it conforms to me better and doesn't dig in. I'm still (although its changing rapidly ) a relatively thin guy so I don't have a lot of padding.

OWB you want the exact opposite so the stiff belt is ideal for that, but I don't generally carry that way.

That is exactly what I find. A regular belt is fine for IWB for the same reasons. It is actually better. Some say the cheap belts will wilt faster but they are
cheap and are easily replaced. For OWB the stiff belts are fine!!

I use the Velcro daily

The Velcro keeps the holster from migrating like a Runaround-Sue and allows me to not have "clips" showing and allows the holster to stay put better... guess I said that kinda

I use the V-Clips ... and also on other holsters I added "Stickyback Velcro" like on the Kholster's clips which can then be worn under the belt ... and on my daily wear Tuck This 2 which has J clip where the J goes under the belt.

I don't like clips scratching up my belt (or being seen by people playing "spot the belt clip")

Sundays= Vclips

Daily wear =Tuck This 2 with Stickyback Velcro on the J clip and spare magazine
I don't carry OWB

IWB I like the Comptac reinforced and Tuck this 2 with mag as it makes a rounder appearance behind the slide instead of a big gap that whooshes air out with each step I take

I used to make belts. my day made saddles and boots, I wouldn't wear a limp belt for IWB nor OWB.
Try both, you'll probably have more back pain with limpy belts
Who was it that had their store bought belt break in K-mart ? ...

Seems like just last week in Galveston someone dropped a gun in Galveston Store too ..

Though I use CompTac V-Clips

However, only CompTac, to my knowledge, offers both the Velcro and Kydex on the same belt. ... Crossbreed offers either/or IIRC
