Well, you do look proud, but not old enough to be a daddy.

Being a Dad is great, but it will get even better when he has kid's and you become a Pop (Grandfather)

I didn't want to hijack your thread, but I figured we could use this to show what we're proud of as fathers. I love my family. My wife is wonderful and my son is truly a blessing. I don't say it often enough but it's absolutely true.

Well, as long as we're posting pics of our kids... Happy Father's day folks.

I have it on good authority that the old fart that runs this board doesn't mind folks bragging on their family at all!

Our sons are grown and one has been married for a year, but no grandkids on the radar scope. My wife and I are threatening to rent some grandkids, if they don't to work.

I will post the details of the gun on another post, but speaking of dads I have to brag about my trip to Montana.

My dad and I went to the NRA show and I went to the Shiloh Sharps booth and was blown away at the rifles. I called my dad on the cell phone and told him he needed to come to the booth.

We talked to the Sharps people and it was deciced we would go to the factory and my dad would order a Sharps.

We left on Father's Day and I got back yesterday. We flew into Billings, and the next day went to Big Timber. We had a wonderful time there, I contacted a Mason in town and he gave us a tour of the Lodge. My dad is not a Mason, but he indulged me and let me do my thing for an hour or so.

We went to the factory, toured the facility and he ordered his rifle. I offered my opinons and suggestions on the custom features he could get. We left there and headed to Mazoula to tour the Cooper rifle factory. It was a 300+ mile drive, but how wonderful it was to get that uninterrupted time with my dad in such wonderful country driving through the mountains.

We spent the night in Mazoula and headed back to Billings after Cooper rifles. We stopped back at Shiloh so that I could get a baseball cap. The night before, I had been lusting over the catalouge and turning green with envy. While we were at the Sharps factory my dad put down the money for a deposit on a Shiloh for me. I told him I would get him the money when I got home and he told me, "No hurry."

We went back to Billings. On the way, he and I were trying to find a way to break the news to my wife. He asked why I got the model I did, and I told him it was because it was $90 cheaper than the one up from it. He told me to change my order and get the nicer rifle, and he would cover the difference.

It is great to be a dad, and I will always remember this. I can not wait until I am able to do the same for my daughter.

Sorry for the long post, just wanted to pass on one of the best times my dad and I have ever spent together.

That's a terrific post Baytown. Sounds like a wonderful time.

I only hope that I can provide the same type of memories for my son.

BTW, he sounds like a great dad.
