First rounds through my new Kimber UCII.

Well I finally picked her up today, slapped on the grips that were waiting for her, gave her a quick bath and then proceeded to Carter Country in Spring to dirty her right up. I only had about twenty minutes before having to leave for work but I slung about 6 magazines full of ammo. She shot very nice. Excellent feeling trigger. Recoil was light, which I was not ready for. This .45 has the same kick as my all steel 1911 9MM, very pleasant. The gun is just so solid to hold and 1911's just fit my hand so nice, thanks Mr. Browning. Didn't have time to take pics of the targets but my best group was the last magazine, left handed single handed. At 25' about 2" group with 6 rounds with a slippery one that got away about 3" from the main group.

Muy Bueno!! Ain't it cool how well these little boogers shoot ? I know I love my stainless UCII, and you are correct about the recoil. I have let several people shoot mine and that is always the first comment they make.
Enjoy it, and shoot the heck out of it.

I bought my Stainless UCII not too long after I got my CHL, and I love it. You're absolutely right about the recoil. It always surprises people how easy it is to shoot it, given its reduced weight and size over a full-sized 1911. In fact, I use it as a benchmark against which to compare my other, smaller and lighter, carry guns. If I can shoot a gun one handed with the same degree of control as with my 3" Kimber, then that is acceptable recoil to me for a small gun.
As it happens, perceived recoil in a PM9 is similar to the UCII, and perceived recoil in a CW45 is just a bit stouter.
Unfortunately for me, my back has deteriorated quite a bit since I first got my CHL, and the carry weight of my UCII is more like carrying a full sized gun for me, and so I carry it a lot less often, and all of my pistol buying attention of late has been focused on smaller, lighter pistols. But that Kimber is a keeper. I just love that gun and I'll likely never sell her. Congratulations to you on yours.

Sweet - congrats on a beautiful handgun! That Kimber is just a tad larger than my M&P compact - a little wider primarily.
