My thoughts.........
If they do this........it should apply to all people of NJ, INCLUDING Law Enforcement. Then see how that works out over the next year or so.

Maybe by then there will be enough of these types killed that we will not have to worry anymore about "pie in the sky" idiots and their stupid thoughts/plans like this ever again.

Thank goodness I've already been to NJ, so I don't have any reason to go back.

Took a friend of the family who was from Jersey and he is a HUGE liberal to the gun range last year. I agreed under the condition that he not throw his liberal banter around while at the range and take it seriously, he agreed. He was shocked that I carried a firearm on my person! He was shocked that people carried in their cars! He was shocked that I was allowed to carry that SUPER DEADLY HOLLOWPOINT AMMO that is a death ray and kills on contact! Even after going to the range and showing this 60 year old man how to shoot his first handgun he still came away amazed that a state government would allow its citizens to carry a firearm in public!

He was kind and respectful after shooting many different caliber guns and he said that at least he came away with a better understanding of how a firearm works and that at the very least he does not fear handling a loaded handgun like he did before.

See what many of us in CC states have to understand is that most of these people from liberal states did not grow up shooting a lot of handguns and only rifles and shotguns if they hunted at all. Hence they are not comfortable around them and you fear what you don't understand!

Also, don’t get me wrong there are still many from liberal states that are pro gun it’s just not as common. It’s just the environment they grew up in makes it taboo! I honestly believe that if they grew up in Texas they would think of firearms just as most Texans do. I tool with many different purposes. Personal self defense, a means to put food on the table and a sport to be respected that all family members can enjoy safely.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but it doesn't ban the legal possession of ammo, nor the sale. It prohibits the sale of cop killer bullets and some off the wall weaponry. I'm not a great translator of legalese speak, but thats what I got out of the bill.

Seems that way but from what the family friend told me hollowpoint ammo is illegal for all expect active duty LEOs in NJ.

(Will any individuals on here who have first hand knowledge, such as infantry, please correct my following statement, if I am wrong?)

I am pretty certain that just about ANY rifle round will penetrate all standard body armor such as worn by law enforcement up to LEVEL IV body armor, if there are no "trauma plates" in-place on that body armor. Thus, by the definition in that bill, ALL rifle rounds COULD be made illegal, barring .22LR, etc. OUT OF CONTROL LIBERALS (LEFTISTS).

Wow. I just read up on New Jersey's hand gun restrictions/laws and all I can say is Wow. I hope none of those legislators want a better climate and move down here to Texas, we don't need 'em.

Shocking with such a "conservative" governor such as Chris Christie at the helm, you know the same guy who's campaigning for Mitt Romney.

The problem with guns in NJ didn't start with Chris Christie. I have zero confidence that, in spite of some Conservative leanings in other areas, that Christie is going to move the meter on 2nd amendment issues even the slightest fraction while he is in office.

In "safety" context, NJ is one of only a couple of States that also bans consumers from pumping their own gas. There is magic pixie dust that falls on all drivers in the Garden State that makes them incompetent to stick a nozzle in their own car's gas tank. Just look at all of the problems caused byt that same practice in 48 other States. I don't know why all of the gas stations in Texas haven't been declared war zones.

The bottom is that the facts don't matter to anyone in NJ government about any subject. Hollow point ammunition, consumers pumping gas, etc. all come down to the same pattern - government officials, driven by ideology (and often union ties and corruption) make decisions for the "good of the public." Truth is of necessity never part of that equation.
