gun shopping intrigue

The recent announcement by Google re privacy policy made me wonder about search results using other search engines. An odd discovery...
I searched 'sr9c' on google, yahoo and bing. Each time I clicked the 'shopping' tab to get just shopping results.
google---- a lot of sellers of the Ruger SR9c
bing--- some handgun sales results and a a lot of accessories
yahoo--- mostly (only?) accessories for the sr9c and women's pants
So is this an illustration of competence
or politics
in the search engine design?
