Revolver used in "Faster"?

Just recorded and watched "Faster" off satellite last night. Duane "the Rock" Johnson plays a bank robber that gets out of prison and starts killing the guys that killed his brother. He used a big revolver that had a smallish barrel length. I couldn't tell what revolver it was, but kinda looked like a Ruger SP 101. I deleted the movie after watching it so I cannot go back and pause to get a better look. Any ideas what revolver it was?

Joe

In Dwayne Johnson's hand a .454 Casul revolver probably does look like a 5-shot .38 special Ruger SP101 in the rest of us "normal" guy's lil hands

Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan in .454 Casull. You can tell the caliber because the cylinder is smooth instead of fluted like the .44 Magnum. 6 shots, 2.5" barrel.

The movie was pretty good, the use of the BIG revolver made me love it even more. I want one.

It's like when I shoot my S&W 625 ....when you have 6 shots, you have to be deliberate, and accurate. :coolgleamA: But do it quickly....

After 2 months of laying low since neck surgery, I'm gonna wring out the 625 tomorrow on the Steel Challenge plates. I have plenty of autos, but there is just something about a finely tuned wheel gun. :woohoo

No, it still looks like a big bad pistola, not a little SP101. LOL Big is big.

My only problem is that the folks in Hollywood, who consistently abhor the private ownership of guns, contribute to politicians who dream of disarming the American public, and otherwise sneer at private gun ownership, cannot make a movie without....guns. So by watching and paying out the nose for the "entertainment" we are, in reality, financing those who would disarm us. I hope we apreciate the irony of the situation. When, and if, they knock on your door to take your gun and you protest, they will reply, "but you were willing to pay for this."

Sorry....[rant off]
