These are on sale today at http://www.woot.com for $17.99 + maybe $1.50 in tax. Sale goes on until midnight tonight or could end any time before that if they run out of stock. (Edited to add: I do not work for woot. I have purchased things from them and never had a problem).

I assume these are Chinese kershaws. If so they may not be as good as the US kershaws but probably decent knives for $15.

Same here!

To the OP - thank you very much for posting! :tiphat:

I don't *need* another knife, but I've always wanted a Kershaw. Currently carry (sometimes) an S&W S.W.A.T.

I think they are Chinese or Jap, I'm interested to see how the assisted open works on this as I don't see one of those safety switches which most assisted openers have.

They are indeed Chinese. These are the budget Kershaw knives, but decent for what they are. Great for a bug out bag...

Here is the "SpeedSafe"...not a traditional open assist. More like a "nub" that assists in opening the knife.

Got mine in yesterday... look and feel like Kershaws should. I think the assisted opening on this knife is the simplest and easiest to use out of all the other one's I've had. Just push the nub on the back and the spring shoots it out.

Which one do you like the best?

I like the drone better than the burst. It has a more traditional pocket clip (blade down in pocket). The burst clip is reversible and sits at the bottom of the handle(away from the hinge). The drone is also about 1/2" shorter when extended.

I am left-handed so maybe the Burst would be better for me since I can reverse the clip?
Does does clip just reverse direction or can it be be put on either side?

The clip can be put on either side at the bottom of the handle ( you can see the two holes at the base which are not on the rest of them, this is where you'd unscrew the clip and move it there.)

Thanks Texasmusic. I will order one or two. ;-)
P.S. I didn't order from Woot because I found a source on Amazon for around the same price.

Ok don't know much about knives.

What are the legalities of carrying a knife like this?

Obviously they won't let you on a plane with a knife like this, what about other places?
