Combat Commander Progress

Finally got the 9mm Combat Commander back from the gunsmith today.

He fitted a BarSto match barrel and tuned the action.

Single stage, clean break at around 3lbs (not for carry...that's the CCO's job).

FedEx delivered it about 3:30pm, hit the range by 4:30.

It's shooting low at 15yds, but I'm fine with that since I can compensate for it and also shoot accurately out to 50 with it. Front sight change is an option, but I've been without it so long I just want to shoot it "as is" a while.

Here's the first 30 rounds down the pipe (with the obligatory flier):

I'll get it dialed in better with more practice! :txflag:

VERY NICE. Good looking and good shooting, what more can you ask for?

Don't worry, the haters will be along shortly to tell you it's supposed to be a .45...I'm not one of them. :thumbs2:

It's ok... I have an STI in 9mm. I love paying for the 9mm price compared to the .45 (which has gone up recently)

Beautiful piece.

Ignorant ones, perhaps - the 1911 has been offered in 9mm and .38 super for decades (and the Colt Ace in 22LR)
I wish I still had the .38 super Gold Cup I had in the mid 80's . Talk about a tack driver! SHould have held on to it. :banghead:

Right now I only have 2 in .45 , one in 9mm, and one in .22 ....I must buy more. :coolgleamA:

EDIT: I forgot, I also have one in 6mm airsoft. Very accurate for getting the gatos out of the yard.

I have the CPA shoot this Saturday, but I'd still like to make a contribution to the fund raiser.

Well, do you for yourself.

Not much to it using a competent gunsmith, and I can recommend one here in Texas if you're interested.

lemme know :cheers2:

doc,

I must have missed the original thread- did you send in a .45 to have it converted or a second top end built or was it a 9mm to begin with? I'd love to know who did the work and a ball park of the cost to do it.

Thanks,
Keith
