Can you silence creaky leather?

I picked up a new gun belt and an owb holster this weekend at the Allen gun show. I like them, but they're really noisy. The holster and belt creak loudly. I assume it's typical of this type of rig but I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to keep it from happening? Will the noise go away on its own once they break in?

My understanding is it's the two pieces of leather rubbing together that causes the creaking.
As the others said, if you'll apply just a very tiny amount of baby powder around the belt loops on the holster, and the back of the holster where the belt comes in contact with it, that should take care of it at least for a while.

The powder may dry out the leather though, so keep an eye out for signs of that, and be prepared to restore the moisture content with appropriate products. Also, my experience is that they creak more when they're new. Eventually they break in enough to stop creaking.

I've found leather conditioner helps as well.
On my supertuck, the metal clips would rub against the leather and make interesting noises. I put some of those fuzy furniture sticky dots (like the type you see on drawers to keep wood from hitting wood) between the metal and the leather and stopped my creaking problems.

Saddle Soap, used sparingly. Just remember that it will soften the leather so you need to apply only where its needed and only enough to do the job. It's the opposite of working with wood or steal. You can always add more, but when you consider taking away its probably too late.

And for an all leather holster (as opposed to the hybrid style with a kydex body/leather backing) softening the trigger guard area is downright DANGEROUS. Be very careful applying anything to the trigger guard portion of the holster. I should have mentioned that in the first place.
