I have a couple Winchester 1200 Riot shotguns with 18.5 inch barrel. I'm thinking about replacing the foregrip and stock with a tactical version. There are several varieties, so I thought I'd ask here about recommendations, what type to avoid, etc. As part of this project, I'll be powder coating the rest of the gun matte black.

I agree - it is. But I have more than one. The one I'm planning this has a fair amount of external wear, and isn't all that nice looking anyway.

I very much recommend you consider a Kicklite Tactical Stock by Phoenix Tactical. You can pick one up from Brownell's for around $110. I recently shot a Remington that was dressed in one and was very impressed. It has a spring loaded recoil compensator and a nice recoil pad that really helps you stay comfortable and on target, even with slugs. This just reminded me to order one for my Mossy!

If you're not set on a full pistol grip, I think I still have a surplus speedfeed I stock for the 1200/1300:

Thanks for the info! I'm liking the looks of the Kicklite.

Did you buy the Kicklite? Results / Opinion on it?
