I would like to sell a gun to someone who lives in the state (Texas) and ship it via mail.

What's the current procedure? I know I don't have to use FFL but what should I do to make sure everything is kosher?

Handguns can be shipped to another person in-state if you can find a private carrier to take them. Lonestar used to do it, but not sure any more.

Correct. FFL not required for in-state sales. Lots of problems behind it though, and most carriers won't touch it. Lone Star will ship consumer-to-licensee, so just have the buyer find a local FFL to ship through and you're all set.

This is a pistol and in-state.

I have bought one a couple of years ago from in state that was shipped via UPS.

I ship through a privately owned Mail store.

#3 says the sale is legal, unless state law says otherwise, but it looks like he knew that already.

Sorry, I read and post a lot from my phone and it is difficult to read all of the thread. It didn't help him any but there is some good info in it anyway.
