Heizer Defense is located in "St. Louis, MO, USA, Earth" and their product line consists of
Aerospace Technology 2 shot modern derringers. There was a previous thread on this on the board,
but that one covered the intro of the original "Double Tap" model.

The above link is the company's website. It contains a lot of good photos, text, and some video of the
HD pistols. But the NRA magazine bested the website by actually showing a photo of the newest model
from HD.

Their newest model is called the "Hedy Jane" Double Tap Pistol. The basic stats for this gun are the same
as the original "Double Tap" model, in size, and it's also available in both 9MM and .45 ACP. The previous models
were available in aluminum or titanium. The newest model is available in "iPhone" white Cerakote, and is
intended for women wanting a fine and fashionable, classy-looking concealed carry unit. Apparently for
women who would be satisfied with only 2 loaded rounds, and wouldn't mind reloading from 2 rounds in the
grip (mounted on a speed strip).

The website above contains a letter from HD's President in which he details that the company has been
flooded with orders, and they're ramping up to meet demand.

I'm not sold on a 2 shot gun, even though you can get it in 2 good calibers, but I thought I would provide this
link as an FYI to all you shootists out there.

I thought it was rather untrue on the website that this little dainty gun was described as having "1911 ergonomics".

I would shoot one, but wouldn't be interested in buying one for CC. This weighs 14 oz in titanium. A 5-shot S&W Model 442 weighs 15 oz.

A 5 shot Scandium S&W M&P340 in .357 weighs only 13 oz, and the 340PD version (same caliber) weighs only 11.4 oz.

By shopping carefully you should be able to have 2-5 shot J frame snubbys for what one titanium ported two shot derringer would cost. I would rather have two snubbys over one two shot derringer.

Then I could get a dual "cowboy rig" for my snubbys.

The "Hedy Jane" is a boutique gun. In fifty years, they may be worth something in the collector's market.

Never did get the 'boutique gun' nor the derringer thing. I guess a two shot derringer might be okay if you needed a deep conceal. But with pocket guns getting smaller, I think there are better alternatives around today. And the fashion-gun? What, you don't want the BG to ridicule you're lack of color coordination before you have to shoot him? I just don't get it.

The wife has expressed an interest in the 2-shotter and honestly so have I but when it's all said and done I just don't see it fitting into our daily wear or even home use. Maybe if we were more of the aristocrat type and went to big parties and balls, then maybe something to match the evening wear but we're just a couple regulars that like beer and buffalo wild wings. ((No offense intended to anyone))
