Going to take my .22lr handguns to the range this afternoon.



I've shot the 22/45 before, but the Taurus 94 is new.

I'm excited to see how the revolver does.

Nothing like some .22 plinking in the afternoon to make me smile!

Had a pretty good range trip.

Pros:

I love my 22/45. Its easy to shoot, reliable, accurate and just downright fun.

The Taurus 94 worked perfectly, and the single action trigger was nice.

Cons:

The double action trigger pull on the 94 was probably the worst trigger I've ever used. I'm going to shoot it some more to see if that breaks it in, but it is not a pleasant trigger.

Most of my shooting was at 7 yards, with some at 10 yards. I was averaging around 1 shot per second with the 22/45... trying to be consistent, accurate and fast. I did okay, but there's obviously room for improvement.

The shots in the 9 ring are the double action shots with the 94. Had a bit of trouble finding the break point on the trigger, and as I said earlier the trigger pull was very heavy.

It was incredibly hot, but I brought my gatorade, took a few shade breaks and had a good time anyway.

I love my .22's; especially, my .22 LR CZ 452 rifles. It is fascinating going through various .22 LR ammos to see which one that particular rifle favors. Not all .2 rifles of the same make like the same ammo....and that's the way it is. The same is true of .22 LR handguns.

I enjoy the days we shoot .22's at the range. Shooting pin tops is a blast and the whole day costs less than a box of 9mm, let alone breaking out the .45. I was surprised how much of a difference the brand of ammunition makes in the pistols.

A couple of guys at the range are bullseye shooters with the full rigs and their results are scary good. I stick to iron sights and hope that it all counts as practice in the ledger.

I've got a 22/45 that I llke a lot. They're a fine shooting pistol........but Bill Ruger must have been drunk when he designed the takedown system.

Yep, Taurus 94 triggers are...uh...less than smooth.

Good gunsmith can remedy that.

Just had my old M94 worked on last week.

Mind if I ask details doc? Who and how much? How much better is the trigger now?

I want to like the little bugger but that trigger pull...

Local guy, Ken Lloyd, did the work. We had a brother-in-law deal worked out, but I insisted he take $40 for the work he performed. I'm really not sure what his typical rate is.

It's as smooth and predictable now as a vintage Smith and Wesson.
