Hello, I was wanting to get a wall mount for my AR. Well, I guess it does not have to be specificity for an AR, but has anyone made or have a mount for theirs?

Like a wall display platform/rack? Or a wall tactical type holder that could be placed behind a door or something?

Not sure what you are actually talking about. But if it is a display platform (for all to see) I would guess that after you mount it in the display, you won't own it much longer.

I bought a "concealed" wall mount that looks like a family photo display, but flips open to reveal an AR with magazine hidden inside of it. You would cut a hole in the wall to accept it so that the pictures are almost flush with the wall and the box itself is nestled between the studs.

BUT.........I haven't installed it yet because I can't bring myself to cut a hole in my wall yet! I'm such an idiot. Anyway, I've held onto it since it wasn't that much money, thinking that down the road, or maybe in a different house, I would go ahead and install it.

Here's a picture of what I bought:

Thanks guys, AEA, I meant for it to be a tacticle one. For if I need it; I can grab in go or grap in go for the range.

TAM, that's neat. Do you remember where you got it? I suppose it wouldn't be difficult to make one.
I do understand your hesitation about actually installing it though. We won't be in our current house forever, so we probably would wait until we were in our forever home. ;)
Neat idea though!

Sheetrock is easy to repair. Just save the cutout

One problem that I can see with that TAM. Aren't most studs 18" apart? You'd have to cut one stud out for that to fit, right?

16", I think.

16" on center.
subtract 1.5" for the studs (2X3/4") and you are left with 14.5"

That would be a very short rifle!

So, based on the image TAM has provided, it looks to me like TWO studs might have to be cut so this would fit. Does that sound about right? Any wires behind there somewhere? I hope not.

Or put a fake wall face up over an existing wall.
