While Thomas.loc.gov doesn't have it listed yet, this site usually seems to be accurate.
I wish that woman would just go away....

Time to get busy again....

				"Sponsor: Rep. Carolyn McCarthy [D-NY] (no cosponsors)"
A bill that has no cosponsors usually dies in committee.
I know, I'm the eternal optimist...

				Well, new we get to see if the new Dems. are really pro-gun. I can assure you, the party leadership is not happy about this at all.

				This one is a trial balloon...
I'm waiting till just after November '08...You guys and gals wanna see it get really interesting...
That one, if this doesn't go anywhere, and it probably won't...That one will probably not have a "sunset clause"...And will include ammunition bans as well...
Pretty much the nightmare senario you have all been waiting for...
But I am sure we'll put up a real good fight...I'm sure we'll prevail...

				Gunners;
I hope America hears you guys. I celebrated Teddy Kennedy by buying an AR-15. Lovely piece of hardware. Gun up, Americans!

				"SEC. 5. REPEAL OF CERTAIN EXEMPTIONS.
Section 922(v)(3) of title 18, United States Code, as added by section 2(a) of this Act, is amended by striking `(3)' and all that follows through the 1st sentence and inserting the following:
`(3) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to any firearm that--
`(A) is manually operated by bolt, pump, level, or slide action;
`(B) has been rendered permanently inoperable; or
`(C) is an antique firearm.'."
I'll bet them "level action" guns are fun to watch people operate.

 I'm confused. Didn't the SCOTUS rule that the 2A applied primarily to military style weapons?
Could it be argued that the definition " A semiautomatic rifle or shotgun originally designed for military or law enforcement use, or a firearm based on the design of such a firearm, that is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, as determined by the Attorney General." could easily be applied to almost any rifle available these days?
Looks to me like an out-and-out assault on private firearms ownership

Of course it is. Anything near or around Carolyn McCarthy is exactly that.
Geez I hate that she's still in office...

I'm re-evaluating this...
Not a lot of warm and fuzzies...But I still think we'll put up a good fight...

Quick, lets submit for a repeal of all major anti acts so she has a heart attack.

I hope you wrote your U.S. rep. Your state rep doesn't have a say in this.
(Sorry if that sound patronizing, but we've had people write their U.S. Senators about bills before the Texas House. Just making sure everyone knows where this bill is filed.)
