Someone has finally used a 3D printer to make their own firearm!

What about this doosie of a quote
In short, this means that people without gun licenses — or people who have had their licenses revoked — could print their own lower receiver and build a complete, off-the-books gun. What a chilling thought.

Funny, I was perusing some info on 3D printers a while back and decided I really didn't need one that much, but I did have the thought that one could create a Glock or XD without a lot of effort, in custom polymer colors, like transparent day-glo pink or some such. :reddevil

They have already been able to do that for decades. Just buy an 80% receiver -- not regulated -- and finish it with simple tools.

My husband is actually waiting for delivery of a 3d printer...he found the article quite interesting as he and a friend had just been discussing that very topic. They'd also said that it would be possible to print a couple of other parts.

This is one of the reasons I want to get a 3D printer and a CNC mill. Also, I want to build my own guitar, and my own furniture (in reverse order, actually, since my plan is to use said machines to save money furnishing my hypothetical house, and then use them to build the fun stuff).
