conversation w/ an anti-gun coworker (funny)

I just bought a new rifle during lunch and got an instant message from a co-worker. I know he's very anti-gun and thinks guns are dangerous, but I was so happy I wanted to let everybody know... so here's part of our IM:

...
me(1:30:30 PM): How was your lunch?
him (1:30:50 PM): good but small, staying light for the marathon on sunday
me (1:30:54 PM): I went out and bought a new rifle during my lunch :)
him (1:31:12 PM): ok, don't bring it inside - might start a panic
me (1:31:19 PM): hahaha..
me (1:31:43 PM): I've got to take you shooting sometime :)
him (1:31:55 PM): ok, but i cannot run THAT fast
...

I didn't expect that he's got a sense of humor. Now it is time to tell my other gun loving co-workers :)

Ok, lots of people wanted to see my rifle so had to show it to them. I didn't expect this much interest in a little .22LR rifle :)

Even had a couple of people (whom I don't know) coming back from lunch come over to check out the commotion.

Mithras61, I decided not to go too far since he's really very anti-guns. He's originally from Canada, so I'm hoping maybe a few more years in Texas will change him into at least a gun owner :)

Just use the word (EH...) at the end of everything you say to him. He'll warm up to you pretty soon.

Keep working on him.

I saw the opening and just could not resist it, but I forgot the j/k or ;-) afterwards. Please rest assured Mi nombre no es Anibal. Speaking of things Canadian, I would like a Canadian-brewed Molson Export right now, but I am on call and hundreds of miles from the land where it tastes best. So whoever reads this, please party safely on my behalf, OK? :fire and :cheers2: in that order, never the other way.

Yeah, 45/70 would be a good choice for hogs.

Friend of mine from Australia sent that picture to me. I haven't killed any near that size. Make up for it in numbers though...(I hate hogs).

Heck, those are the most fun! I just got my wife a Mossberg 702 so she wouldn't keep burning .243 on target practice, and just like the S&W M22 I got her, I think I'll be putting a lot more wear on it than she will.

One of these days I'll break down and buy myself some .22LRs.

Too bad he wasn't in a country that allows guns; he could've been seriously hurt getting close enough to slip that noose on it so he could hang it with the tow truck.

I guess they'll ban tow trucks now.

So what kind of .22 did you get?

I've been looking for a CZ 452 Scout but there don't seem to be any on the used market.
