XDs or M&P Shield in Austin? or Grip pics?

Hi all.

I need something smaller to carry than my XD(m) compact. I admit that I am a Springfield fanboy.

With that said, is there anybody in the Austin area that has an XD-S? I'd like to simply hold the gun, see if my pinky fits on the standard grip (I have small hands) and get a since for how large the gun is in my pocket. Cabelas and Red's don't have any. If not, would you mind posting a picture of you gripping your XD-s in one hand and the height of your lower three fingers (mine are 2 1/4" (maybe even closer to 2 3/16" total).

I have similar questions re: the M&P Shield (9mm), but have a heavy predisposition towards the XD-S. I know I can buy one, but hate buying anything, let alone a gun, that I've never seen.

Thanks in advance.

I have an XD(m) 45 Compact 3.8. It's a great gun, but when I need a smaller .45, I carry a Kahr CW45. Quite a bit lighter than the XD(m), and a whole lot less expensive than either of the Springfields.

I was in "The Gun Store" in Cedar Park 2 weeks ago and they had the S&W shield.
