A friend gave me a Sightmark reflex sight that I recently installed on my Garand. Works reasonably well with two problems. First, the sight sits higher than I would like - not too bad but it would be better lower. Second, in bright sunlight the red dot is hard to see even at the brightest setting. Aimpoint has their Micro H-1 which looks like it would solve both problems but costs around $600. Question, is there a brand of these type sights that falls somewhere between Aimpoint and Sightmark as far as quality and price? Preferably closer to Aimpoint quality and Sightmark price. (I know I know)

Incidently, I’m really impressed with the Ultimak M-12 mount. Easy to install and looks like it belongs on the Garand.

Look for the Aimpoint PRO. You should be able to find it for $380-$400.

If you are more budget conscious, you could look at the Vortex Strikefire, but that PRO is a lot of sight for the money.

Look at the Vortex Sparc.

Try a fresh battery. I put a Sightmark on my daughter's rifle and we can see it easily in bright light. It was about $40.

I have a Fastfire II on my AR.
Moving it to my Browning Buckmark pistol.

Why? I just ordered a Fastfire III. $229.00

I have a Trijicon reflex sight on my SBR. I really like it a lot. I have used it in bright sunlight and dim indoor conditions, and even at night. Very pleased with the ease of use! AND the bonus is I never have to worry about the battery - there is none

The only problem I had was shooting offhanded around a barricade - I am so left eye dominant I couldn't see any sights at all, but that was the shooter NOT the sight.

The Trijicon sights are very good. I just grabbed the first 4 I saw on SWFA.

Check Primary Arms. They are very affordable and get great reviews for both customer service and the product. I got their micro red dot and it works great on my AR. I leave it on all the time set at 3 for nighttime use. Battery has lasted for 3 months now. It gets nice and bright if you crank it up.
