I'm suggesting Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Explosives ... and get out of the Firearms Industry's business and rights of the People

Excerpts in quotes below from entire article at above link
Agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) are responding to a suggested name change for the agency by the top brass in Washington. Along with the name change may come a change in duties and function, according to comments made by ATF agents Wednesday.
Disband it, let the I.R.S. collect the Alcohol and Tobacco TAXES THEY are already a tax collection agency, and the firearms "fees/taxes" ... if you must ...
The ATF has amassed a 20-year history of questionable tactics
It's one heck of a tax collection agency that shoots your dog and kid because of a half an inch of metal was cut off, and you didn't pay the $200.00 tax (Ruby Ridge) or has atrocities like in Waco because of a "rumor" that some one at a religious place in Waco MIGHT be converting a gun from one bullet per trigger pull to more than one ... without paying the $200 tax (Branch Davidians) I don't recall seeing anyone hold up that alleged rifle on TV after the compound was "captured" though.
Did any of you see that rifle that had been converted without paying the $200?
What kind was it?

England had debtors prisons if you owe, THIS AGENCY in the USA just kills you and those around you if you owe the tax.

Why do they have to mess with tobacco or guns any way? They should call it ADK, which would be Alcohol, Dope, and Ka-Boom! I guess it really should be ADE, with the E being for explosives. I never said I had a brain.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. The length of the barrel of the firearm is irrelevant. The USE the firearm is put to is what makes the difference. Also, I remember an incident not so long ago of an Army National Guard soldier who was sentenced to 10 years in Federal prison because his his old AR malfunctioned and repeated fire and thus was called a "machinegun" by the BATFE. Yep, that REALLY served justice, oh yeah. The bottom line is that the vast bulk of these stupid gun laws like the barrel length thing need to be thrown out, period. It ain't like the Feds make a lot of money off of it anyway, and making people pay a tax on it is just dumb. They should focus on REAL crimes, like bulk weapons smuggling by drug cartels, and leave Joe and Josephine Citizen alone. If they threw this stuff out and let the IRS handle the alcohol and tobacco tax stuff, and the FBI handled REAL gun crimes like bulk smuggling and the explosives business, then the BATFE could certainly be disbanded.

Roll them into the same agency that regulates churches, newspapers, and the right to remain silent.

Kind of like selling guns to straw buyers for the drug cartels? Like the DoJ did with 'Fast & Furious'?

Or, just let Hillary @ State Dept continue selling them to the "military and police" in countries like Mexico and them them distribute to the cartels like they do ... that system seems to work well enough on its own

The 2,000 Fast and Furious guns are a small dfiversion

Legal (Hillary Clinton's State Department) U.S. gun sales to Mexico arming cartels

nearly 9,000 police weapons "missing."

found in a criminal stash in a region wracked by Mexican drug cartel violence.

"There have been 150,000 or more Mexican soldiers defect to go work for the cartels, and I think it's safe to assume that when they defect they take their firearms with them,"

The 2,000 fast and furious were a drop in the bucket allowed to restrict guns in the USA, while almost 160,000 more were just sold outright knowing they'd go to cartels through police and military ...

So, F&F was just cover for the other operation? Now, why would our Democrat-controlled State Department want to arm the cartels? Does that fall under the heading of "exporting revolution"? I know, tin-foil-hattery... :confused5

To many of our "newer" inhabitants here, Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms sounds too much like a convenience store.

Are they going to follow FTC truth in advertising rules and change the name to Bureau of Kitten Stomping, Child Killing, Enemies of the United States Constitution?
