I came across this on another site and thought it was pretty neat.
It's in no way practical for me but, hey, maybe for somebody....
It definitely fills the "tacti-cool" genre.

http://www.gilboa-rifle.com/Gilboa-Firearms/Snake/#" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Its available in 5.56
Two 9.5" barrels with 1:7 twist
Single fire control group
Gas piston
Folding stock
Select fire

ENJOY!!

I wonder if the ATF classifies this (or that double-barreled 1911) as a machine gun?

I read a post somewhere else that stated if both barrels fired at the same time with just one trigger pull it would have to be classed as a machine gun.
True? Don't know for some but I'm sure someone will chime in at some point with the correct info.

it says it is "select fire"
Firing mode : Full auto or semi-auto available
I assume there would have to be a semi-auto non-full-AUTO VERSION FOR civilians anyway.
The Gilboa™ family offers various models and configurations to best serve our clients. Our current range includes standard gas impingent systems; piston driven systems; sub-size weapons; semi-auto weapons and more.
maybe they could put 2 triggers on it or have one trigger fire one barrel then the same trigger fire the other barrel like a double barreled shotgun or like derringers do http://bondarms.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The firearms in the Gilboa™ series are available in various calibers: 5.56x45mm; .223"; 7.62x39mm; 7.62x51mm; .308" and 9mm Para.
That looks like something I would accept as a gift (I doubt I could afford to buy one :lol: )

I'm having a little trouble imagining holding onto two rounds of .308 fired simultaneously. I might flinch a little.....

It looks very cool, but I have to wonder what would happen to the bullets when twin sonic booms go off that close to each other?

Nothing, because they're sonic booms. If/when the bullets go sub-sonic, then maybe their wakes could affect each other.

The 1911 has two triggers and 2 hammers, therefore it is no different than holding 2 1911s side by side and firing them. A machine gun fires more than one shot with 1 pull of the trigger. Note that is singular, not plural. ergo if you have 7 barrels and 7 triggers that can be pulled at once it is not a machine gun, just an abomination.

If you need 2 barrels to double tap a 5.56 you need to gain 20 lbs and hit the range more.
