I should pick it up today or tomorrow. :hurry:

I'm buying mainly because they're so hard to find, and it's so cool!
It's stainless BTW.

Pics after I purchase.

Reason for this post? Mainly to celebrate, vent, and see if anyone has a reason I should *not* get it.

Why on earth would we do that? Congrats on the new gun!

Good buy!
'Gun Tests' did a comparison between the Ruger 12/22 TD , the Marlin 39A and a Browning SA-22. The Ruger won hands down. Grade "A".
I'm looking forward to seeing one. 4.7 pounds in a compact size when not assembled. What's not to like. The only thing that confused me about the write-up is where they stated " We should note the change in impact point would not necessarily be consistent." when speaking about accuracy during and multiple re-assemblies. Let us know what you find at the range. :fire

So far no issues, I have done tests and a friend has as well. It goes back to hitting right every time so far, if it changes I will post the change.

Could try this ...
Honey, the 10/22 TD is the special TouchDown Edition. it should be a good investment.
Number 10 is traditionally worn by a football team's playmaker; 22 is the number of players on the field in a football (soccer) match, and also the number of players on the field at any one time in an American football match. And the TD model comes apart so it can be carried in a smaller package, like a football instead of a long thing like curtain rods.
So you see dear, It's a football guy thing .... Want a new purse?

Be prepared to buy a purse, that's all she'll remember of the conversation anyway after tuning the rest out.

(Disclaimer: do not take my advice, I'm divorced; Qualifications to give advice, or lack thereof, are self-evident from this statement...)

Thanks guys... picking it up tonight. I've only had a Marlin 60 .22lr for decades... LOVE it, but it's not compact like a take down, and I like the magazine fed possibilities of the 10/22.

I think this is a perfect rifle for so many situations. I love how easy it will be to throw in my backpack or whatever. I only wish there were rifles of this configuration in other calibers like .223. If they made a Mini 14 Take Down... oh man.

Thanks for the info. I can't figure out why it would lose it's zero. The sites are both on one part of the rifle. If one site was on part A and the other on part B after it was dissembled, then I could see how that would cause issues over the long term.

Just got back from buying it... err... starting to buy it I should say. Before starting the paperwork, I got an emergency call to return home! :banghead:

Before I bought it, I did look it over again, and can see how the zero could possibly be bumped off if you have a scope. The scope sits on the rear part and the barrel may not return to the exactly spot over time I guess...

I don't use scopes on .22's usually, so it shouldn't be an issue for me.

Well, now I hope to pick it up tomorrow now!
