Honestly I think that is pretty good if this firearm is new to you. When I first got my Glock 20 I tried to master it a 20 yards and that was a big mistake. At 15-20 yards I was shooting groups like yours. I decided to start at 5 yards and work my way out in 2-3 yard increments. This seemed to help a lot! Also, the farther I go out the slower I have to fire, at least for me. Though I have seen a lot of these IDPA guys shoot touching groups at 50 yards with a Glock 34 and 17L which I could never do. Now I can shoot much tighter groups at 20-25 yards after a year of practice, better sights and slowing my rate of fire. I have even gone out to 50 yards and done pretty well but considering you have a commander length line of sight I think you did pretty darn well!

Put it this way, I don’t think most would pick up a new gun and shoot that well. They might say they can but when you go to the range most don’t really shoot that well at longer distances because they don’t practice it that often. Just my 2 cents.

Edit: Also, ditch the silhouettes! Bullseye and 12 inch targets work a lot better. Aim small miss small! That helps a lot to.

I assume from your pic it is a Colt so it should be capable of better groups. Most of the time when I see people who are having trouble keeping good groups it is due to how they are holding the pistol although I have no idea if that is negatively affecting your accuracy. A proper grip makes a world of difference. This is a good video on proper grip:

I can see the target just fine.

I get really irritated by the way it keeps jumping around, though! :grumble

It is the downdraft in the range that gets my goat. You'd think if folks went to the trouble of putting up walls and a roof that they could figure out how to keep the wind out. :banghead:
