So I'm looking around for another pistol to possibly carry iwb. I like the new P938, kimber ultra cdp II and the new Springfield xd-s .45. I know oh how I know I'm talking a huge caliber differance but I really don't care. I've shot all these and they all feel great in my hand! I'm not worried about target shooting at 25 yards and anything like that. Although I have been thinking about looking into a local club here that does practical shooting meets. Anyways give me you .02-.25 cents!

No man can tell another man what to carry. Its an individuals choice based upon give and take.
Get the 938...its easier to carry.

I have 350 rounds through my P938 so far. I like it due to size, decent caliber (versus .380), and ambi thumb safety.
I'm a small guy, so it still feels big for pocket carry. New kydex for my IWB showed up today so
we'll give it a run tomorrow.
So far so good.

The 938 looks interesting. I may consider that route, but I'm such a M&P 9c fanboy, that I don't think I could make the switch. After hearing some of the details of the crazy BCS shooting our community dealt with last month, I've re-evaluated what I carry. Out of those, the XDs might be the most "tactical" choice. It's no secret I despise anything with a Kimber roll mark on it, so I'll spare elaborating there for the other member's sake.
If I had a grand to drop on a new gun for IWB, I'd go for a lightweight Commander and bob-tail it. Maybe a Colt XSE or Springer. -OR- a compact striker fired 9mm with a Docter sight, mags, triger job, and custom leather.

I carry a XDS and I love it. For a .45ACP caliber, you can't beat its size. Certainly not a range gun as it gets too uncomfortable after 100-200 rounds but for what it's designed for (ultra compact .45 CC) I just haven't seen anything better.
Of course this is my opinion and as it was mentioned above you have to carry what you're comfortable with and what feels good to you. I tried a M&P Shield .40, XD-40 and a Glock 27 subcompact and the XDS is the one that I felt the most comfortable, was the most concealable and had the kind of kinetic energy I want to depend on should I need it.
Go to a range that rents out various firearms and see what feels best for you.

I'm right with you! My other carry option is an M&P 9c. However, for a small-framed person it's just too big...prints like crazy on me! So I leave the M&P at home with the wife and kids (secured, of course) and carry my P938.

If you are a fan of the 1911 style pistols then the Ultra CDP II is a great carry option. I have had mine about 10 years and love it. It's also shockingly accurate and much softer shooting than you would expect. I haven't shot either of the other 2 you mentioned.

The Springfield EMP is a super nice 1911 style pistol in 9mm or 40. Just a tad over your budget. Bud's has them online for less than 1100.
